With the launch on 23/08/2011, the Squareface is a new kid on the block, but we all like it already. Things are simple here at SF - come in, click around for some great avatar and save it to your drive. No fuss, no hassle, no registration and - God forbid - no fees. All of those pics are here for you to choose from, so just pick what you like and send it off wherever you want to display it. And if you get bored and want a change, come back and get a new one; we add fresh avatars regularly.

Who did it (and why)?

Squareface is brought to you by TootleDoodle, a team of designers & developers that is never bored, but always a hell of a lot creative. We spend our time either online or asleep (but trying to get rid of the latter, with little success as of today), so the Web has no secrets from us. We carefully observe what is going on around the internet and try to think of something to add to fill the gaps we can see forming. And then we do stuff.

Web 2.0 came with all kinds of interactive sites, encouraging their visitors to leave something behind them, be it a comment, a Facebook 'Like' or a Google's +1. We have profiles everywhere, and where we don't, we can usually log in using some other account. And then come blogs and journals of all kinds, allowing us to share our lives and views with others, like nothing has before. Web 2.0 means online presence, and the best presence is that non-anonymous one. Who likes to be a 'Guest' with a non-descriptive avatar, when they can have their own nickname displayed there, right next to their pic of choice?
